ICT: In search of better connections
A small group of global outsourcing operators in the cluster of gleaming tower blocks known as Ebene Cyber City is the driving force for the island’s newest area of growth – information and communications technology. Earmarked by the government as “the fifth pillar of the economy”, ICT is the third biggest contributor to gross domestic product, making up 6.7 per cent in 2011.

Samsung Pays Apple $1 Billion Sending 30 Trucks Full of 5 Cents Coins
This morning more than 30 trucks filled with 5-cent coins arrived at Apple’s headquarters in California. Initially, the security company that protects the facility said the trucks were in the wrong place, but minutes later, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) received a call from Samsung CEO explaining that they will pay $1 billion dollars for the fine recently ruled against the South Korean company in this way.

Anil Gujjalu de Bharat Telecom : “L’Internet à haut débit par fibre optique à Quatre-Bornes en octobre”
Le lancement commercial des projets de Bharat Telecom Limited (BTL) est très attendu à Maurice, dont l’Internet à haut débit par fibre optique, notamment en raison de la technologie qui sera utilisée : le Fibre To The Home (FTTH). Même s’il n’a rien de révolutionnaire, ce sera une grande première pour la région africaine. Anil Gujjalu, chef des opérations à BTL, explique comment progresse la mise en oeuvre du projet.
