Le contrat de 114 jeunes employés par le Mauritius Institute of Education (MIE) sous le Youth Employment Programme arrive à terme ce mercredi 24 mai. Après une année de formation, ils s’attendaient à être recrutés sur une base permanente en tant que ‘Holistic Teachers’. Mais ils sont toujours dans le flou quant à leur avenir.

Le Youth Employment Programme recrutera 1 000 jeunes détenteurs d’un Higher School Certificate, d’un diplôme, d’un degré ou d’un Post Graduate. Cela en vue d’un placement d’une durée d’une année dans les ministères et corps para-étatiques en vue d’augmenter leurs chances d’employabilité.

Youth Employment Programme : 350 jeunes placés chaque mois dans des entreprises
Depuis la création du Youth Employment Programme en 2013 jusqu’à août 2016, 22 744 jeunes, dont 9 871 hommes, s’y sont enregistrés. Parmi, 15 442 ont été placés dans des firmes privées. Ces chiffres excluent le millier de jeunes ayant été affectés dans la fonction publique et des organismes parapublics.
