Tertiary Education in Mauritius : Knowledge Hub or Springboard for ‘Fat-Salary Jobs’?

One of the priorities of the Government is to position Mauritius as a study destination par excellence in the region. In this respect, a Ministry of Tertiary Education was set up in 2010 with the objectives to promote research, to attract renowned institutions and especially to attract international students. However, for many of our foreign students, Mauritius is not the Promised Land. Who is to be blamed? The authorities or the private institutions which do not live up to their expectations?
