Export Sector: Five Companies Put the Key Under the Mat in Three Months
Twenty companies export-oriented were closed between September 2012 and September 2013. Nothing between June and September, five companies have put the key under the doormat. During the same period, 1,068 people lost their jobs in the sector against 916 new jobs.

Fall in Exports of Textiles and Clothing
According to data from the Mauritius Export Association (MexA), total exports for the first three months of 2013 showed a nominal increase of 1.2% from Rs 10.88 billion in 2012 to about Rs 10.9 billion in 2013 . However, net exports have declined significantly in the order of 14% during this period.

Port Louis Exports Gas to the Countries of the Indian Ocean
Three giant tanks for the storage of liquefied petroleum gas, for export, have arrived in the Red Sea. Made in Italy, these metal behemoths has a storage capacity of 50,000 tons of gas. The gas supply to these vessels will be done through a pipeline linking the dock.

New Leasing: Facilities for Export Companies
Export-oriented enterprises in the textile sector will now benefit from new leasing facilities in US Dollar (USD) and Euro. Finance Minister Xavier-Luc Duval on Wednesday launched the scheme under the Leasing Equipment Modernisation Scheme (LEMS) in Forex to bring a variation to the current LEMS in local currency.
