The University Grants Commission (UGC) offers a replica of size five Indian universities affiliate operating in Mauritius. These are EIILM, JSS Academy, the Arya Sabha, Global Business and Mauras. "These universities can not run races in Mauritius," says the UGC.

Education: The Weakness of Mauritius Confirmed
The sky darkened a little more about the Mauritian education system. The University of Mauritius (UoM) is ranked 97th out of the top 100 African universities. The UoM is ahead and three tertiary institutions in Africa, namely Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, Tanzania, Gulu University in Uganda and Vaal University of Technology in South Africa.

Worrying Situation for Our Graduates
The student population in our institutions is growing fast. In one year, the enrollment rate increased from 44 334 to 45 969. The programs offered by different institutions have also experienced a substantial boom. The latest figures show that the TEC for the year 2012, 772 programs were offered against 660 in 2011. However, a report of the TEC states that despite this growth, graduates come up against enormous difficulties.

HSC Laureates: No more bonds between them and the country.
This article is an update to what has been written and hugely debated here back in 2009. Many have been able to express themselves on the scholarship topic and the due of the HSC laureates at the end of their studies, financed by the government. And we all know that a considerable number of laureates never came back to Mauritius.

To sum up the recent happenings, The University of Mauritius advertised a Bachelor of Pharmarcy (BPharm) course 4 years ago and a few weeks before the end of the first batch's course, the Pharmacy Board of Mauritius announced that they do not approve or recognize such course by the University.
