CPE: Second Chance for Failed

CPE : une deuxième chance pour les recalés

Journée portes ouvertes à l’école des sourds

La Society for the Welfare of the Deaf a organisé une journée portes ouvertes, jeudi, pour marquer la ‘Deaf Awareness Week’ qui est normalement célébrée pendant la dernière semaine du mois de septembre. Les étudiants des établissements secondaires et ceux en formation professionnelle peuvent ainsi faire montre de leur savoir-faire. Cette journée a été décrétée par la ‘World Federation of the Deaf’.

Mauvais sucres comme repas ‘sain’

Une visite dans un des établissements scolaires de la zone des Plaines-Wilhems, où sont dispensés des cours de rattrapage ‘Remedial Classes’ à l’intention des élèves du CPE qui vivent dans des conditions précaires, nous a conduit à la découverte d’un repas surprenant. Du chocolat, du jus et un biscuit, le tout rempli d’un apport conséquent en mauvais sucres. C’est le repas qui est distribué aux élèves, les mardis et les jeudis après-midi.

High Absenteeism in SC and HSC: New School Calendar to Address the Problem

Many students taking part in the exams School Certificate and Higher School Certificate are no longer going to school since they received their time-table. So much so that the Ministry of Education and the main unions met last week to discuss the problem. Their proposal: revise the school calendar.
