Poor families to receive new child allowance
Government will be providing a minimum support of Rs 750 per child per month for children in all families earning less than Rs 6,200 per month. This was announced on Tuesday 8 January by the Minister of Social Security, National Solidarity and Reform Institutions, Sheila Bappoo, during a press conference held at her ministry. According to Sheila Bappoo, the Ministry of Social Security, National Solidarity and Reform Institutions is starting the implementation of a measure already stated in the 2013 Budget speech.
